ChatGPL is impressive and hilarious

I'll skip a dive into the technology, ethics, or broader implications here, and just give you a tip: ChatGPL can tell some pretty entertaining stories. My personal favorite is to ask it to tell a story about a friend and give it all sorts of specific prompts and random requests. My second favorite (ranked solely by entertainment value), is to think up some fun, basic plotline and let it take a crack. 

Here's an example.

Prompt:
Tell me a story about a boy who swallows a lightbulb and has a hard time dating, until he meets a women who swallowed a light socket and sparks, literally, start to fly. Include a comedy scene where they pick out light fixtures at their local home depot, before driving to the car wash and forgetting to put the top up on their convertible. Shocking!

Response:
Once upon a time, there lived a young boy named Max. Max was an adventurous and curious child, and he loved to explore the world around him. But one day, he made a terrible mistake.

While playing in his family's garage, Max stumbled upon an old lightbulb. Without thinking, he picked it up and swallowed it, thinking it was a candy.

At first, Max didn't think anything of it. He continued to play and have fun, unaware of the danger he had put himself in. But as the days went by, Max began to feel strange. He had a hard time eating and drinking, and he was in constant pain.

His parents took him to the doctor, and they were shocked to learn that Max had swallowed a lightbulb. The doctors were able to remove the lightbulb, but the damage had been done.

Once upon a time in the bustling city of New York, a Citibike came to life and embarked on a thrilling adventure. The Citibike, who was a brilliant and witty wunderkind, was determined to help a blind man named Tim navigate the tough world of bond trading.

Tim was a short but strong man who had lost his vision in a tragic accident while playing T-ball as a child. Despite his blindness, Tim was a skilled trader and was determined to succeed in the competitive world of finance.

With the help of the Citibike, Tim was able to navigate the busy streets of New York and make his way to the trading floor. The Citibike was a bit embarrassed by his large bike seat, but he was a loyal companion to Tim and always had a funny joke to lighten the mood.

As they worked together, Tim and the Citibike formed a strong bond. Tim was grateful for the Citibike's help and wisdom, and the Citibike was inspired by Tim's determination and courage. Together, they tackled the challenges of the trading world and overcame obstacles that would have seemed impossible to overcome on their own.

In the end, Tim and the Citibike emerged victorious. They had succeeded in the cutthroat world of finance and earned the respect and admiration of their peers. So both stories are random, hilarious, and surprisingly entertaining in my view. Not much depth or plot obviously, but for a short story generated in a few seconds, and considering the "light" related word play of the first, I'm impressed.
